Safeguard your Checking Account with Courtesy Pay

Courtesy Pay is a benefit to our checking account holders. It safeguards member accounts by preventing transactions or checks from being rejected or returned when funds are insufficient.
If eligible, you will be automatically enrolled after 90 days and will receive a letter from NCCYou. Make sure to read this letter because there are some parts of Courtesy Pay that you must opt-in for!
How to Qualify:
To qualify for Courtesy Pay, you must meet the following requirements:
• You must be at least 18 years of age.
• Your account must be in good standing.
• Your NCCYou loans (if applicable) cannot be past due more than 30 days.
• Your checking account must be open for at least 90 days. If eligible, you will be automatically enrolled after 90 days and will receive a letter from NCCYou. Make sure to read this letter because there are some parts of Courtesy Pay that you must opt-in for!
What's Covered?
What transactions are covered automatically after the 90 days?
• ACH
• NSF Checks
• On-Us Checks
• Recurring debit transactions (this includes recurring transactions you set up on your debit card – not to be confused with one-time POS transactions.)
What Do I Need to Opt-in For?
- Debit card POS (Point of Sale) transactions
- ATM (Automated Teller Machine) transactions
How Do I Opt-Out?
You will need to complete and submit an Opt-Out form. Please note that if you cancel Courtesy Pay and overdraw your account, you will still be charged an overdraft fee as well as fees imposed by merchants and collection agencies in addition to ultimately paying the overdrawn check. You can always opt back in later if you change your mind!
My Courtesy Pay was Cancelled. What Happened?
• Your account balance was negative for 30 days
• You have a bad address that has not been updated
• Your account was deemed to be a potential loss to the credit union
• Your account was closed and sent to collections after it had been negative for 45 days.

[4] Credit Score Tracker: Once credit file monitoring has been activated and you have requested your first credit score, you may request a new credit score each month to be plotted on your Credit Score Tracker graph. Monthly email notifications will be sent to let you know when your new score is available.
