NCCYou's Financial Recovery Initiative

Helping members move beyond recurring overdraft fees.

A Fresh Path Forward—Together

Unexpected expenses and account fees can make it difficult to regain financial momentum. We believe every member deserves a supportive path toward greater financial stability.

Our Financial Recovery Initiative is designed to help members move beyond recurring overdraft fees, find solutions that fit their circumstances, and build a stronger financial future.

What is Courtesy Pay?

Courtesy Pay, also known as overdraft protection, may help cover an eligible transaction when there are not enough funds in your account. It can provide valuable short-term support, but fees may accumulate when overdrafts happen repeatedly.

If overdraft fees have become a regular part of managing your account, you do not have to navigate the situation alone. We are here to help you understand your options and create a plan that works for you.

Support Designed Around Your Goals

Through our Financial Recovery Initiative, eligible members may be invited to meet with a member support specialist or financial counselor. Together, we can:

  • Review your account and identify patterns that may be creating financial stress
  • Discuss ways to reduce or prevent recurring overdraft fees
  • Build a practical plan for moving toward financial stability
  • Explore payment flexibility, deferments, or other available support
  • Review alternative products that may better fit your needs
  • Connect you with tools and resources for managing cash flow

Every member’s situation is different. Our goal is to listen first, then work with you on realistic next steps.

A More Sustainable Alternative to Repeated Overdrafts

Depending on your circumstances and eligibility, we may explore options such as a secured line of credit through our Credit Builder Loan program.

This type of solution may help provide access to funds when needed while supporting more predictable repayment and credit-building habits. Your financial counselor can explain how available options work and help determine whether one may be appropriate for you.

Reviewing Eligible Fees

If you have experienced significant Courtesy Pay or NSF fees, we may be able to review your account history and determine whether an adjustment is available.

  • Eligible fee adjustments may be available based on an account review
  • Courtesy Pay may need to be turned off before an adjustment can be completed
  • Any adjustment and agreed-upon next steps will be documented clearly

Fee adjustments are not guaranteed and are evaluated individually. A financial counselor can explain the review process and available options.

You Are Not Alone

A financial setback does not define your financial future. With the right support and a plan built around your goals, you can take the next step toward greater stability.
